Yến, a filmmaker struggling with financial problems, tries to balance caring for her mother, who has Alzheimer’s, with the demands of her own troubled family. When her mother disappears amid disagreements over selling the family home, Yến and her two siblings set out to find her. Their search brings old secrets and unresolved family tensions to the surface. A year later, Yến enters a forest with her 16mm camera and encounters an ageing mother elephant. As she calls out “Mom!”, a faint voice answers from the distance, leading her into a strange and dreamlike world.
