Hanne, an artist, and Bernd, a retired pastor, share a happy life that has become a routine. Their lives change when Hanne’s ex-husband Kurt arrives at their door. Suffering from dementia, he no longer remembers that they are divorced. The couple welcomes him into their home, and his presence brings unexpected lightness to their relationship. But when Hanne discovers that she has feelings for both men, the three begin to explore a different way of living and loving, even as Kurt’s condition continues to deteriorate.
Born in 1995 in Würzburg, Welf Reinhart graduated in film direction at the University of Television and Film, Munich. His short film, Rooms, screened at numerous festivals and won the Student Academy Award in Los Angeles 2022. A Fading Man is his debut feature film. It had its World Premiere at the Tiger Competition of the Rotterdam.
