Lee is a well-known police detective in Taipei. After losing his team during an investigation, he struggles with guilt and is transferred to a rural police station. The incident leaves him traumatised, and he develops amnesia but keeps it a secret. Soon, he is assigned to investigate the kidnapping of a Japanese businessman’s son. As his memory gradually fades, Lee relies on his instincts to follow the clues and track down the criminals.
Sabu made his directorial debut with D.A.N.G.A.N. Runner (1996), which screened at the Berlinale. His films include Monday (2000), recipient of the Berlinale FIPRESCI Award, The Blessing Bell (2003), which won the Berlinale NETPAC Award, Kanikosen, Miss Zombie and Mr. Long.
