In the quiet town of Santa Mira, California, Dr. Miles Bennell hears reports from residents who believe their loved ones have been replaced by people who look the same but show no emotions. At first, he thinks these fears are unfounded. But he soon discovers that alien pods are creating copies of humans while they sleep. As more people are replaced, Miles and his friends race to uncover the truth and stop the invasion before it spreads further.
Don Siegel was an American director-producer- editor, known for science fiction, crime and thrillers. His films include Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1956), Dirty Harry (1971), The Shootist (1976) and Escape from Alcatraz (1979).
