Fujino is a talented and confident teenager who dreams of becoming a manga artist. Kyomoto, a shy girl who rarely leaves her room, spends most of her time drawing. Though they have very different personalities, their love for drawing brings them together. Over the next 13 years, the two girls from a small town work towards their dream of becoming manga artists.
Tokyo-born Hirokazu Koreeda directed Maborosi, After Life, Nobody Knows, Still Walking, I Wish, Like Father, Like Son, Our Little Sister, The Third Murder, Shoplifters, The Truth, Broker and Monster, screened at various international festivals. He won the Jury Prize at the 66th Cannes Film Festival.
