Paolo Marra kills his wife for no clear reason. Filled with guilt, he gives himself up to the police, hoping to face punishment and restore dignity to both himself and his victim. But the police do not take him seriously, while lawyers, fortune tellers and endless paperwork make matters worse. Caught in an absurd situation, Paolo discovers that getting arrested is almost impossible. The film presents a strange and darkly comic society that refuses to listen to someone who wants to accept responsibility for his actions.
Born in Rome, Roberto De Paolis Maino studied filmmaking in London and acting with Beatrice Bracco. A photographer and video artist, he directed Venice-screened shorts Bassa Marea and Alice. His films Pure Hearts and Princess premiered at Cannes and Venice.
